nO Other gODS

Tonight is the cornerstone commandment for the entire rest of the year. (Exodus 20:3) In other words, its the foundation by which all the other commandments are built. "You Shall Have No Other gods (little g) Before Me." Here's the reason.....because THERE AREN'T ANY OTHER gODS!!! Isaiah 43:10-11 - "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD (Yaweh), and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside Me there is no Savior."

Loving God and Loving Others

Teaching on the 10 Commandments will be the emphasis this year in 180 Youth Group. Can you name all ten of the ten commandments? Try it! Now watch the video and see if you got them all correct.

Jesus reminds us in the gospels that the 2 greatest commandments of all are to "Love God and Love Others." 

So how do you do that? I John 5:2-3 says we do that by following His commandments, and what better way to follow His commandments then to go the original ten! These ten commandments are still applicable today, not because we are held under them and have to keep them or lose a relationship with God, but because we should follow them as a result of our relationship with the Almighty God, who loved us first! (I John 4:19)

The first 4 have to do with our relationship with God and the last 6 our relationship toward others. 

Youth Group is every Wednesday night, during the school year, from 7-8pm. Come check it out!

August 2nd - Mountain Creek Water Park trip
August 5th - Trenton Thunder Baseball Game

Some of you are already out of school, some of you are almost out! Congratulations on finishing up another year. So, whatcha gonna do this summer? Here are 3 things to put on your calendar. (so far)

Last Night of OPERATION REVERSUS!

Reactions when these people heard tonight was the last night to invite friends to youth group for OPERATION REVERSUS.

Notice the Roman Centurion from the DVD we watched last week. He was pretty upset, but the guy to his left was excited at the opportunity to invite more friends back! The baby below him was bummed that we have only had 17 of the 50 back so far, but the boy in the middle right was excited that we have had 17 come back!

Operation Reversus!!!

Praise the Lord for 96 teens last Wednesday night! Operation Reversus is in full swing! Congrats to Philip, and Elizabeth for winning the Nextbook Tablets!

Last week the youth leaders gave a presentation called "The Journey to the Resurrection." After the presentation 4 people went back for salvation! Praise the Lord!!!! Keep inviting! Keep praying!

Our goal for you as you read this blog is 2 fold.  

#1 - TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!! You received a cross from a friend because you've been to 180 youth group at least 1 time this school year and we want you to come back again! Youth Group is every Wednesday Night from 7-8pm.

 #2 - TO HAVE YOU EXPERIENCE THE TRUE MEANING OF EASTER through our special youth group worship service on the 16th! There will be a cool, interactive presentation of the story of Jesus' death and resurrection, including awesome music and worship videos!!!! You wont want to miss it!!! On that same night, as a thank you for being there with us, we are going to be giving away 2 Nextbook 7" Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Tablets with 8GB memory.

 

Here are the ways for YOU to be eligible: 

You must be present on Wednesday night, April 16th. 

You must have the little wooden cross with you that your friend gave you.

There will also be all kinds of flavors of tasty DORITOS and other kinds of chips, & of course, homemade, warm, ready to devour DESSERTS!!!  We'll be able to talk, hangout, and eat delicious food before youth group starts at 7:00PM. 

We're getting pumped up about this night and are excited of the possibilities to see some faces we have seen in awhile! Hopefully, YOU will be one of those people! Oh and by the way...the code word is "Reversus".

Guys Sunday School Class Starting this Sunday!

 This is a promo video for the new Sunday school series the guys are starting this Sunday called "Paul in Rome: Ancient Truth for Today's Culture." This series is designed to help them stand up to cultural "norms" and stand firm for Christ in this sinful culture. David Nasser takes us back to Ancient Rome and shows us places where the Apostle Paul ministered and where Christians were persecuted for their faith in Christ. This series, Lord willing, will be an encouragement for us to follow Christ even stronger because of the freedom we have to do so.

This...is...crazy! Lol! Yes, that's the ocean and yes that's snow! I knew I would see new things when I moved to New Jersey but this is something that just blows my mind! Yet, it's also awesome to see God's creation at work! Survivor Snow Camp was _______! (Fill in the blank)

Thanks everyone for making Survivor Snow Camp an awesome weekend! We had serious competition, cool tribal chants, funny skits, great food, it even snowed while we were there, but most importantly we were taught from God's Word! It was amazing to see God work in the lives of those who went. 8 teenagers place their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation! Praise the Lord!!! Many others made decisions to stand up/out and alone for Jesus! It was so cool to see the teens pray together (like the picture to the left) and encourage/challenge each other to live for God! Keep it up! Stick with the decisions you made! You'll never regret living for God, but you will regret living without Him!
